The ​Wheeler Boys Soccer team won their first-round match against Washington Township 9-0. Harper Schaberg scored five goals and had three assists. His fifth goal was his 23rd of the season and broke the Wheeler Boys Soccer record for goals in a season. Leo Vega had three goals and three assists. Freshman Iby Kawamleh scored and was assisted by fellow freshman Lincoln Stachowiak. The Bearcats keeper Caleb McLaughlin earned a clean sheet for the night. Connor Morley, Luke Morley, Randy Johnson, Louay Zeitoun, Ryan Smith, and Randy Johnson helped the Bearcats control the match. The Bearcats play Andrean in the second round at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, at Wheeler High School, which is the Sectional host.
