All Offense In Wheeler Varsity Bearcats Loss Against Lake Station Edison

Bats were blistered on Tuesday, but Wheeler Varsity Bearcats couldn't quite get the job done against Lake Station Edison and lost 13-12. Lake Station Edison collected eight hits, while Wheeler Varsity Bearcats had 14. Wheeler Varsity Bearcats lost despite out-hitting Lake Station Edison 14 to eight. David Lindlow and Caleb McLaughlin each collected three hits for Wheeler Varsity Bearcats. Wheeler Varsity Bearcats got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Nick Bravo tripled to center field, Lindlow doubled to center field, and Noah Udzielak singled down the left field line, each scoring one run. A triple by Bravo extended the Wheeler Varsity Bearcats lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the second inning. Lake Station Edison flipped the game on its head in the top of the third, scoring six runs on three hits to take the lead, 6-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Jordy Hastings that drove in three. Lake Station Edison scored five runs on two hits in the top of the fourth inning. Clayton Hammons drew a walk, scoring one run, Joaquin Hernandez singled, scoring one run, Cayden Sellers grounded out, scoring one run, and a passed ball scored one run. Bravo pitched four innings in relief for Wheeler Varsity Bearcats. The pitcher allowed four hits and four runs (three earned) while, striking out seven and walking five. Victor Hutcheson led things off on the mound for Wheeler Varsity Bearcats. The hurler surrendered four hits and nine runs (five earned) over three innings, striking out eight and walking six. Hernandez opened the game for Lake Station Edison. The starting pitcher gave up eight hits and eight runs (four earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking two. Wheeler Varsity Bearcats accumulated 14 hits in the game. Lindlow provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Wheeler Varsity Bearcats with three runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 3-for-4 on the day. Bravo collected two hits for Wheeler Varsity Bearcats in four at bats. Nick Micciche and Cash Micciche each stole multiple bases for Wheeler Varsity Bearcats. Wheeler Varsity Bearcats stole five bases in the game. Gael Gutierrez, Aiden Rowan, and Kaylan Colon each collected two hits for Lake Station Edison. Hastings and Colon each drove in two runs for Lake Station Edison.
