Wheeler Junior Varsity Bearcats Win In Fashion, Walk It Off Versus South Central Junior Varsity Satellites By GameChanger Media It came down to the wire on Friday, as Wheeler Junior Varsity Bearcats grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 12-11, over South Central Junior Varsity Satellites. The game was tied at 11 in the bottom of the seventh when Aubrey Macon singled, scoring one run. Both offenses were strong at the plate as Wheeler Junior Varsity Bearcats collected 12 hits and South Central Junior Varsity Satellites eight in the high-scoring affair. South Central Junior Varsity Satellites were the first to get on the board in the first when Ashlen Strauch singled, scoring two runs. Wheeler Junior Varsity Bearcats took the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Kennedy Hawkins singled to center field, Gracie Doud walked, and , each scoring one run. South Central Junior Varsity Satellites flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring six runs on three hits to take the lead, 8-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Tatum Rogers that drove in two. A wild pitch extended the South Central Junior Varsity Satellites lead to 9-5 in the top of the third inning. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Wheeler Junior Varsity Bearcats went back into the lead after Jordyn Wenger singled to center field, and Macon singled down the left field line, each scoring one run. Lilli Tancos earned the win for Wheeler Junior Varsity Bearcats. The hurler allowed eight hits and 11 runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out 16 and walking two. Alexis Jonas took the loss for South Central Junior Varsity Satellites. The righty went four innings, allowing six runs (one earned) on six hits, striking out four and walking four. Wheeler Junior Varsity Bearcats accumulated 12 hits in the game. Macon led Wheeler Junior Varsity Bearcats with three hits in five at bats. Mackenzie Campbell and Wenger each drove in two runs for Wheeler Junior Varsity Bearcats. Skyler Statham and Hawkins each collected multiple hits for Wheeler Junior Varsity Bearcats. Addison Snuffer led Wheeler Junior Varsity Bearcats with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Hawkins stole two bases. Wheeler Junior Varsity Bearcats stole seven bases in the game. Strauch drove the middle of the lineup, leading South Central Junior Varsity Satellites with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 3-for-4 on the day. Nitaljia Mendoza collected two hits for South Central Junior Varsity Satellites in three at bats.
