Walk-Off Seals The Deal In Wheeler Varsity Bearcats Victory Over Hebron

It came down to the wire on Wednesday, as Wheeler Varsity Bearcats grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 4-3, over Hebron. The game was tied at three in the bottom of the eighth when Keegan Kuehl hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. Hebron were the first to get on the board in the first when Pete Socci singled, scoring one run. Hebron committed an error, which helped Wheeler Varsity Bearcats tie the game at one in the bottom of the fourth. In the bottom of the fifth, Wheeler Varsity Bearcats broke up the tie when Nick Micciche singled, scoring one run. Then a hit by a pitch followed to extend the lead to 3-1. Hebron tied the game up in the top of the sixth thanks to two singles. Hebron tied the game at three on a single by Zac Peeler. David Lindlow earned the win for Wheeler Varsity Bearcats. The hurler allowed eight hits and three runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking four. Peeler took the loss for Hebron. The pitcher went one-third of an inning, surrendering one run (zero earned) on zero hits, striking out none and walking one. Spencer Spinks stepped on the bump first for Hebron. The pitcher gave up three hits and two runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out five and walking three. Jack Gaetz collected the save. Micciche, Kuehl, and Gaetz each drove in one run for Wheeler Varsity Bearcats. Nick Bravo went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Wheeler Varsity Bearcats in hits.
