Wheeler Varsity Bearcats Fall After Strong Showing By Andrean

Wheeler Varsity Bearcats had trouble keeping up with Andrean in a 12-0 loss on Thursday. Andrean jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Jet Dutton singled, scoring two runs, Cade Duerr hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Ford Stevenson doubled, scoring three runs. Andrean scored six runs on five hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Blake Kouder hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Kaden Maxwell singled, scoring one run, Brady Elish doubled, scoring two runs, and Matthew Kulig singled, scoring two runs. David Lindlow took the loss for Wheeler Varsity Bearcats. The hurler went four innings, allowing 12 runs (seven earned) on eight hits, striking out four and walking four. Stevenson led Andrean with three runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The shortstop went 1-for-3 on the day. Elish, Luke Goben, Kouder, Dutton, Duerr, Maxwell, Kulig, and Stevenson each collected one hit for Andrean. Andrean turned one double play in the game. Andrean were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Kouder had the most chances in the field with five. Next up for Wheeler Varsity Bearcats is a game at Westville on Saturday.
