The Lady Bearcat Girls varsity Basketball team lost to Laville in the semi final round of sectional play. Laville who beat 18th ranked North Judson was a tough opponent. Our Lady Bearcats came out fighting though. They led the majority of the first quarter, but ended up down 10 - 6. As the game progressed, you could tell that not having starter Rae Hesser (out due to injury) had a significant impact on the team. At half time the Bearcats were still in the game being down by 12. But as they grew tired in the 3rd quarter they were down by 23. In an effort to make a comeback they came as close as being down by 16 in the 4th quarter but ended up losing by 23. Leading the Bearcats in scoring were Cailynn Harris with 9 and Lexi Cutka with 8 points. Abby Ordonez had 4 and Megan Vincent had 3. Megan Vincent had 12 rebounds and did a great job with post defense. The team defense was pretty good holding Laville to 45 points who previously scored 58 against North Judson.
