The Wheeler Bearcats basketball team fell to the Illiana Christian Vikings 46-40 Tuesday night at Illiana. The Bearcats were led by Nick Scott with 17 points. Carter Blane led the team in rebounding with 9. The loss puts the Bearcats record at 9-9 for the season, and their final conference record will be 2-5 for the season. The JV Bearcats also lost Tuesday night by a score of 43-41 in OT at Illiana. The JV Cats were led by Sean Schafer with 11 points, Ryan Smith with 8 points, and JJ Blevins with 7 points. The JV Bearcats stand at 10-8 on the year, and finish the conference schedule 2-5. Both teams will take the court again on Tuesday 2/18 when they host the New Prairie Cougars.
