The Wheeler Boys Swim Team outswum the Kankakee Valley Kougars tonight but dropped a close meet 78 to 88. KV outscored the Bearcats 13-0 in the diving portion of the meet for the difference as the Wheeler Boys have no divers. 14 personal best times we achieved in the effort which brought the Bearcats record to 10 wins and 7 losses for the season so far counting conferences. This was the 9th meet this season where the Bearcats scored more points vs their opposition year over year. Individual first places were earned by Stephen Claussen on the IM, Ben Gutwein on the Breaststroke, and Tommy Emery on the 200 Free and 100 Fly, and the 400 Free Relay team of Tommy, Stephen, Max Claussen, and Ayden Johnson. The highlight of the meet was Ben and Christian Bouma completing the 500 yard Freestyle for the first time and Sam Mooney dropping 46 seconds on his best 500 Free time. The Bearcat Boys next meet will be hosting Culver Academy and Boone Grove this Saturday.
