Wheeler Athletics

The Wheeler Bearcats boys Basketball team won their 6th straight game @ Highland last night 39-36. The Bearcats were led in scoring by Marek Barton with 11 and Carter Blane with 10. Logan Fox led the defensive effort with 5 steals in the game, and Marek Barton led the team with 7 rebounds. Wheeler improved their record to 7-2 for the season. The JV Bearcats also had a good win over the JV Trojans of Highland 38-20, and also have a record of 7-2 for the season. Ryan Smith had 12 points and Sean Schafer had 10 points to lead the JV in scoring for the night Both teams take the floor again tomorrow afternoon in a Greater South Shore Conference game when they host the Griffith Panthers. Wheeler is currently 1-1 in the GSSC and Griffith is 3-1 in league games.
