WHS Boys Swim Defeats Michigan City

The Wheeler Boys Swim team celebrated Senior Night by defeating Michigan City 89 to 67. 14 Personal best times were earned in the effort. Seniors Stephen Claussen got first in the 4 Free Relay and second places in the 2-IM and 2 Free Relay, Chris Benefit got second places in the 2 and 4 Medley Relays and the 100 Free, Greg Gillen got second in the 4 Free Relay, and Tommy Emery got first place in the 200 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke, and 4 Free Relay and a second in the 2 Free Relay. Other top performers were Max Claussen taking first in the 500 Freestyle and second in the 200 Freestyle, Ayden Johnson taking second in the 500 yard Freestyle, and Ben Gutwein taking second in the Breaststroke. Besides the 14 best times swum by the entire team, another highlight of the event was Randy Johnson taking 3rd place in the Individual Medley for his first time ever completing it! Their next meets will be this Thursday at Hobart followed by Conferences this Saturday hosted by Wheeler. Let’s go Bearcats!
