WHS Boys Swim vs Chesterton

By Bob Emery | Dec 5, 2024 11:27 PM

The WHS Boy swimmers showed marked improvement vs Chesterton swimmers and divers tonight by reducing their strong opponent’s margin of victory by 24 points compared to last season with a score of 40 for WHS, 128 for Chesterton, and 12 for Boone Grove. While Wheeler’s only first place finisher was Tommy Emery in the 100 Butterfly, all 6 Relay teams performed very well with three 2nd places and the Bearcat 100-yard Freestyle and Breaststroke swimmers of Titus Parrish, Chris Benefit, and Ben Gutwein also placed well. Highlights of the meet included personal best times from those guys and Randy and Ayden Johnson, Stephen and Max Claussen, Ryan Stoner, Christian Bouma, Greg Gillan, and Sam Mooney. In many cases, their time drops were several seconds each. Another significant milestone was Randy Johnson doing the Fly in the Medley Relay for the first time in his career. The Bearcat Swimmers next meet will be this Saturday December 7th away at Portage.
