Wheeler Athletics

The Lady Bearcat basketball team lost to Hanover Central in a hard fought battle at home. At the end of the first quarter the Lady Bearcats led 7 - 3. At half time the Lady Bearcats were down 16 - 11, this was partially due to an injury that occurred to guard Cailynn Harris that happened midway in the 2nd quarter. They were also missing forward Rae Hesser who is still out due to a concussion. The Bearcats hung tough through the 3rd quarter but being short handed started to take it's toll. The final score did not reflect how close the game was. Hanover Central 48 Wheeler 23. Mia Dejesus and Abby Ordonez led the Lady Bearcats with 8 points each. Kaylee Catone pitched in 4.
