The Bearcat Boy Swimmers earned their 16th head to head victory last night in a Tri meet scoring 315 points vs. Calumet’s 139, Boone Grove’s 29, and edging out Griffith by 7 with 308 points. The Bearcats entered the final relay with only a one point lead before Tommy Emery, Stephen Claussen, Calvin Paolone, and Drew Stoner defeated the Griffith squad by over 20 seconds to secure the team win for Wheeler. Everyone on the team set at least one new personal best time including the Medley Relay and 200 Free Relay teams consisting of Titus Parrish, Max Claussen, and Ayden and Randy Johnson. Drew, Calvin, and Titus all PR-ed in the 50 Free, Tommy in the 100 Fly, Randy and Ayden in the 100 Free, Max in the 500 Free, Titus in the Breastroke, and Stephen in the 200 Individual Medley. A highlight of the night was senior, Drew Stoner, winning the closely contested 50 Free event and setting a new personal best on senior night. The Bearcats next meet will be next Thursday at Kankakee Valley. Way to go Bearcats!
