The Bearcats lost by a single free throw to the Whiting Oilers on Monday night at home. The cats kept Whiting to one of their lower scoring games of the season with tough defense by all. Five players helped with the offensive charge, and they were led by Marek Barton (12), Brady Rife (11), Tyne Vettikal (10), Carter Blane (8), and Nick Scott (2). In JV action the Bearcats improved to 8 wins on the season. Leading in scoring was Caleb McLaughlin shooting 5 for 7 from the three point line and ending with 15 points. Chipping in were Sean Schafer (9) and Christian Cutka (8). The Wheeler Bearcats next game will be at home versus the Boone Grove Wolves on Thursday February 1st.
