The varsity boys basketball team fought the whole game against a talented Calumet. Leading the bearcats in scoring was senior Brady Rife with 19 points, followed closely by junior Marek Barton with 17 points. Three other bearcats added in points including junior Carter Blane (4) and sophomores Nick Scott (6) and Tyne Vettickal (6). The next game for the Bearcats will be at home on January 22 vs the Whiting Oilers. In JV action the bearcats had to fight back from an 11 point first quarter deficit but ultimately ended up losing in overtime 41 to 43. David Diaz led the offense with 15 points helped out by Sean Schafer with 12. Other bearcats who put points on the board were Chase Stoner (2), Christian Cutka (4), Logan Fox (3), and Conner Welch (3).
