Wheeler Athletics

This morning the Wheeler Junior Varsity Boys Basketball tournament hosted a holiday tournament and lost the opening round game to the River Forest Ingots by a score of 53 to 32. Wheeler was led in scoring by Caleb McLaughlin with 11 points and Logan Fox with 10 points. In the consolation game of the tournament Wheeler rebounded for a 46 to 39 win over the Lake Station Fighting Eagles. Leading Scorer for the Bearcats was Conner Welch with 16 points and Logan Fox added 11 points in the game. The win over Lake Station avenged an early loss from two weeks ago. The JV record now stands at 6-4 on the season, and they will have a short break until the new year. The next contest for the JV will be on 1/6/24 @ Griffith at 12 noon. The Varsity Holiday Tournament is scheduled for Tomorrow 12/28 @ River Forest High School. Wheeler will play Hobart in the first game at 11:30AM.
