The Wheeler Bearcats boys basketball team defeated the Lake Station Fighting Eagles 53-44 Last night 12/8. This win puts them at 2-0 in Greater South Shore Conference Play. The Bearcats were led in scoring by Nick Scott with 19, Brady Rife with 16, and Marek Barton with 13. Toughness Jersey Award winner for the game was Collin Edwards with 2 charges taken and 2 deflections for the game. The JV Bearcats fell to the Fighting Eagles 44-41. The JV Bearcats were led in scoring by Logan Fox with 15 points and Christian Cutka with 9. Both teams now carry 3-2 records into their next contest at home vs. the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings on Saturday 12/16.
