Bearcats Boys Soccer Ties Slicers

Wheeler Boys Soccer opened at home with a 4-4 tie against LaPorte. Sophomore Iby Kawamleh tied the match with about five minutes left in the first half. With less than a minute left in the half, LaPorte scored to take a 2-1 lead. The Bearcats tied the match with a penalty kick by senior Leo Vega. The Slicers scored to take a 3-2 lead, but the Bearcats tied the score again with a goal off a free kick by sophomore Luke Morley. Both teams traded several scoring chances, and LaPorte found the back of the net on one to take a 4-3 lead. The Bearcats fought back and tied the match on another free-kick score by Morley resulting in the 4-4 tie. The Bearcats host River Forest on Tuesday, August 25, with a 7 pm kickoff.
