Wheeler opened their 2022 campaign with a tough loss at River Forest 22-15. Caden Brann led the way with 2 rushing touchdowns and Tyler Schmidt led the team in tackles. The Bearcats came back to take the lead 15-14 with 4 minutes to play on a Brann touchdown and Joey Makatura two-point reception. River Forest was able to answer and retake the lead. Caleb Klimczak led the Bearcats down to the 10 yard line before being intercepted in the endzone to end the game. Wheeler takes on Kankakee Valley this Friday at KV at 7 p.m.
