Gillen's Season Ends at Regional

On Thursday morning at the Lake Central Regional at Sandy Pines Golf Course, senior Mark Gillen finished his season (and his high school career) by posting an 83. Knowing he would need to shoot in the 70's in order to advance to the State Tournament, Mark was derailed by a quadruple bogey at the difficult 7th hole. However, in true Bearcat fashion, he steadied the ship and proceeded to play the next 8 holes in just one over par. In the end, it wasn't enough to get to the next level, but all those in attendance (his dad, his coaches and his teammates) were proud of his display of grit and resilience. Mark heads to Wabash in the fall to continue his golf career at the collegiate level. Great things are ahead!
