Boys' Golf Loses to Hanover on 2nd Tiebreaker
By Michael Lyons | May 1, 2026 10:03 PM
On a chilly Friday afternoon (the same day as Wheeler's prom) at Indian Ridge, a short-handed boys' golf team lost a heartbreaker to Hanover Central. Both teams scored a 184, and the fifth-score tiebreaker was no help, as both fifth scores also ended in a tie (a first in Coach Lyons' experience). So the coaches conferred, and the decision was made to send each team's #1 golfer out in a sudden-death tiebreaker. With a ton of pressure on his shoulders, senior Jake Robinson gave it a valiant effort with a great drive and a pinpoint iron approach to the green (pictured), but his par putt lipped out. Congrats to all the boys (especially Jake) on a solid effort in yet another day of unseasonably cold spring weather.
