On a COLD day at Indian Ridge Country Club, the Wheeler varsity boys' golf team got edged out by South Central by a score of 169-174, but defeated Bishop Noll 174-186. As Coach Lyons said over and over again, it was a dogfight the whole afternoon, with our boys in orange and green coming up just short. Mark Gillen shot a sparkling 3-over-par 39 to earn event medalist honors. All three teams had enough golfers to have a full JV match as well, with Wheeler beating South Central 180-220 and Bishop Noll 180-251. Next up: a slightly short-handed squad takes on Hanover Central on Friday (prom day) in a rain makeup match at Indian Ridge.
