Wheeler Athletics

It was a late night for the Bearcats on Wednesday. The Junior Varsity bettered their record against a tough Hebron Hawks. Showing up offensively was Leilani Gaetz and leading the defense was libero Layla McNamara. The Varsity came out a little slow losing the first two sets to a strong Hawks team. Then did a 180 and won the next two with a great whole team effort. The Bearcats ended up losing in the last game 18-20. The team captain Genesee Klimczak was solid in the front row putting up great blocks and hitting with the consistency and reliability of a senior leader. On defense Abby Allen continued to be a rock that rarely let's a ball fall around her. The Bearcats are back tomorrow for game number three this week against River Forest!
